CentOS 5 "cannot find a valid baseurl for repo" Error Fix

When trying to update or install packages on older CentOS 5 systems, you may run into the following error.

root@server1 [~]# yum update -y
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror

YumRepo Error: All mirror URLs are not using ftp, http[s] or file.
 Eg. Invalid release/
removing mirrorlist with no valid mirrors: /var/cache/yum/base/mirrorlist.txt
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base

This is commonly caused by attempting to use deprecated repositories. The update repositories were moved to the CentOS vault when the operating reached it's end-of-life.

In order to continue using the operating system packages, you will need to update your repository entries to point to the vault.

Using your favorite text editor, open /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo

Look for the following:

[base]name=CentOS-$releasever - Basemirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os#baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/gpgcheck=1gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

Comment out the mirror list, and uncomment the baseurl. So it should look like the following:

#mirrorlist=
baseurl=

Next, you will need to put in the URL for the vault repository.

for 32-bit systems, use: http://vault.centos.org/5.11/os/i386/

for 64-bit systems, use: http://vault.centos.org/5.11/os/x86_64/

For each repository, you will need to replace /os/ with what repository subdirectory you need. For example on a 64-bit system, for updates, your URL will look like http://vault.centos.org/5.11/updates/x86_64/ and for extras it will look like http://vault.centos.org/5.11/extras/x86_64/ Always check the old url first to make sure you have right path. You can also check http://vault.centos.org to see all available repositories.

Once you have added this, run the following to clean your yum cache:

yum clean all

Then update yum to start using the new repositories:

yum update

sometimes when we want to see or record the asset pc or our laptop. sometimes we must look for service tag or serial number pc that we have, maybe for some pc or laptop can we easily see service tags on sticker attached to pc or laptop, but what if the sticker is gone or when we meremote want to see the sevice tag pc we will be difficult to record the asset is not, I have a little to make it easier to see service tag is by using cmd. here I explain how to use it.

open the Run menu and then type cmd and enter or by click start-asessoris-right-click run as administrator on cmd if we are in user login position then we type in cmd wmic bios get serialnumber and enter it will appear serial number or service tag pc or if you want to see the full model and service tag pc can be written wmic csproduct get name, identifyingnumber way it can run on windows operating system.

How to setup LACP bonding interface on CentOS 7

Introduction
A bonding network interface could be used for redundancy or higher speed requirements than 1 NIC can offer. This tutorial will help you setup a LACP (IEEE 802.3ad) bonding network interface. It requires that the switch your server is connected to is setup accordingly. If you're unsure please contact our support team.

Step 1) Login with SSH
Login as root.

Step 2) Disable NetworkManager
In our experience NetworkManager is pretty unpredictable and near useless within a server environment and we prefer to disable NetworkManager. These instructions won't work if NetworkManager is enabled!

systemctl stop NetworkManager
systemctl disable NetworkManager

Step 3) Configure nameservers
Because NetworkManager is now disabled you need to setup your nameservers manually. Open /etc/resolv.conf with your favourite text-editor:

nano /etc/resolv.conf

The content of that file should be as follows:

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 4.4.4.4

Step 4) Load bonding kernel module

modprobe bonding

Step 5) Create bonding interface configuration file
Create a new configuration file called ifcfg-bond0 in the directory /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. We use our favourite text-editor nano to do so:

nano /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0

We will give this file the following content:
